High Heels was created in January 2007 by Djs Matthieu-F
and Matt von Holtz. Matt & Matt come from two completely different backgrounds,
but that didn't matter as they both shared a common core belief in music.
They both felt as though the scene had lost the focus of what clubs, djs,
& music were made for. Both fed up with the way their careers were heading,
Matthieu-F, an ex-executive with some London labels and Matt von Holtz,
South Beach, Miami resident dj who started a new career in London, had a
heart-to-heart conversation that would undoubtably change their futures
forever. Matthieu-F, a tech dj, and Matt von Holtz, a trance dj at heart,
came together, whipping up some of the hottest sounds in Minimal tech, Neo
Trance, & Electro. They had the sounds, but a venue would turn out to
be a problem. Being a new promotion with limited funding, they would have
to build the promotion in a smaller, relatively unknown venue, and so High
Heels was born! Matt & Matt primarily focused on building the event
by having their friends come out. Between the two, including other resident
dj Criz-po, they were able to secure numerous event dates to ensure the
promotion could continue to build. It was not until nearly 5 months after
the creation of High Heels that it was taken to another level. The promotion
was given an opportunity to make a proper debut with Heat UK @ Koko on July
14th, when they were asked to co-host a room with Funk Deluxe. Since then,
the promotion has gained notorioty by racking up gigs at some of London's
most respected & attended venues, including Koko, The Cross, Heaven,
Scala & Turnmills.
